Meet the Host

Kathleen Hema, MPH

International Sexual Education Advisor to Parents

Hi, I'm Kathleen and I understand the challenges parents face when it comes to the sex talks. The (early) Masturbation Talk is one of the most difficult talks for parents to have because it has long been considered taboo. Many parents don't know what to say or are afraid of saying something that causes their child to feel ashamed or embarrassed. My goal is to give you the knowledge, scripts, and guidance to confidently address this common behavior in early childhood without hesitation or fear of saying the wrong thing! I've worked with parents in over 80+ countries and hear the same concerns all over the world. I'm currently writing a book to be published by DK Publishing in 2027 as a practical guide for parents on how to easily start the Early Sex Talks and keep the lines of communication open in the home.

Who is this Webinar for?

The (Early) Masturbation Talk is for parents of children between the ages of 0-7 who have noticed their young child rubbing their genitals or parents who want to be prepared with how to react if they notice their young child masturbating one day.

What is Masturbation in Early Childhood?

Many parents are caught off guard when they notice their young child rubbing their genitals. During this seminar, I dispel the myths about masturbation in early childhood, how to recognize the behavior in your child, and give you practical tips to deal with the behavior and the discomfort it might bring you as a parent.

Should I Sign Up?

✅ Do you have a child under the age of 7? ✅ Does your child rub or touch their genitals? ✅ Do you want to be prepared with what to say if you notice your young child touching their genitals? ✅ Do you want to learn when masturbation in young childhood is a Red Flag 🚩 for CSA?

About the Webinar

Not all young children masturbate. Some kids do and others don't. Some kids masturbate often while other kids masturbate sporadically.  No matter if you've noticed your kid doing this once or multiple times it can feel awkward, uncomfortable, and shocking to see it happen.  You are not alone!  Many parents don't realize how common this behavior is and end up feeling all alone - thinking their child is the only one doing it.   I'll be sharing the stats and latest research about early childhood masturbation (including why it's sometimes called Childhood Gratification Syndrome). Learn how to recognize the signs of masturbation in early childhood, how to react, what to say, and the potential red flags to look out for all inside this 1-hour LIVE Webinar.  Join me for an enlightening session tailored to parents of kids 7 years old and younger who are seeking guidance on how to respond to this behavior in the home. Gain insights, tools, and confidence to safeguard your child's well-being effectively.
